In August 2006, Thiakis closed a £10 million Series A financing round, jointly-led by Novo A/S and Advent Venture Partners, with Imperial Innovations, The Royal Society, Esperante, NPI Ventures & Consensus Business Group also participating in the Series A syndicate.

Thiakis’ seed funding came from Nastech in connection with the grant by Thiakis of a patent sub-licence to Nastech for the development of intra-nasal PYY3-36.
