Dr Mike Hayes
Michael Hayes was appointed to the Thiakis board in August 2006 as an independent non-executive director. Since November 2003, he has been Executive Chairman of Biotica, having been a Non-Executive Director of Biotica since June 2000.
He has over 20 years experience of the international pharmaceutical industry. He was Executive Vice President of Global R&D and Chief Technology Officer of Amersham Biosciences. Previously he held the position of Divisional Director of Discovery Technology at Glaxo Wellcome with responsibility for new lead discovery, and also Chairman of the Centre for Natural Products Research in Singapore. He was a member of the CBI Biotechnology strategy advisory group and an editor of the Journal of Antibiotics.
Dr Hayes received his Ph.D. in microbial genetics and biochemistry from the National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London.
