Dr John Burt

John Burt founded Thiakis in mid-2004 with Professor Steve Bloom. Prior to this, John was Head of Medical and Life Sciences at Imperial Innovations, the technology transfer office of Imperial College London. John was a non-executive director of Imperial spin-out company Sterix prior to its acquisition by Ipsen.
Previously John had held positions with GlaxoSmithKline, Vernalis and Pricewaterhouse Coopers. He has a first degree in Natural Sciences (Biochemistry) from the University of Cambridge and a D.Phil from the University of Oxford in Molecular Biology. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
